 Следует признать, что до этого альбома, Foo Fighters были группой синглов. Такие хиты, как «This is a Call», «Everlong», «Learn to Fly», «All My Life», «Times Like These», и, конечно, «My Hero», прошли проверку временем, и теперь без них не обходится ни один концерт группы. Но альбомы, в которые входили эти трэки, были однообразными и, что уж говорить, скучными.
И вот, десятилетие группа решила отпраздновать, выпустив двойной альбом - электрический (СD 1) и акустический (CD 2). Этот двойной альбом как бы предоставляет выбор: хочешь зарядиться и послушать драйвовый, плотный гитарный рок - врубай первый CD; хочешь расслабиться и послушать лиричные акустические баллады - включай второй CD. Работа великолепно подходит для прослушивания в автомобиле, желательно на месте пассажира. Из всех песен выделяется мощный хит-сингл «Best of You», который заводит с первых секунд. Так же довольно интересны «DOA», «The Last Song», «Resolve», «Hell». Из акустических номеров мне особенно приглянулась «Cold Day in the Sun». Очень необычно смотрится, точнее, слушается, дуэт Дэйва с певицей Норой Джонс в песне «Virginia Moon». Дуэт очень неожиданный, но, как оказалось, приятный. Вообще, несмотря на продолжительность, альбом не кажется затянутым. Его не надоедает слушать, не хочется выключить на «пол дороги», а это, согласитесь, большой плюс. Тем более, для двойного альбома. В 2005 году не было записи лучше и интересней этой (в рамках стиля, конечно). Лично я, когда слушал этот альбом, забыл о том, что Дэйв Грол - бывший барабанщик Nirvana. Чего и вам советую. |
