 Очень оригинальный и интересный релиз. Вообще не люблю всяких переосмыслений собственной музыки и кавер версий, ибо если оригинал мне нравится, то не вижу смысла его переигрывать, а если не нравится, то крайне сложно оставаясь в его рамках сделать его лучше. Однако Vanden Plas эту теорию опровергают. Для альбома отобраны самые лучшие номера с дебюта, а также несколько просто хороших песен чужого авторства. Все сыграно в акустическом варианте. Из чужих песен не слышал ту, что на немецком, поэтому ничего сказать не могу про ее отношение с оригиналом. Но самое близкое это, конечно, переосмысление «Marillion». По-моему, Vanden Plas удалось сделать и без того легендарную композицию на порядок лучше чем в оригинале. Да и собственные песни в новой аранжировке выглядят совершенно по-другому. Не менее, интересно, чем их «полноформатные» варианты. Вступление с криком пеликана достойно отдельного упоминания. Это просто находка. Одним словом, VP подошли к созданию акустического альбома очень скрупулезно и, хотя он и считается синглом или миньоном, для меня это отдельная большая работа группы, которая радует при каждом прослушивании красивой, великолепно сыгранной музыкой и не давит на мозги.
P.S. Более всего поражает то, что запись подобного диска была произведена следом за дебютом. Обычно группы отваживаются на подобные эксперименты, имея за спиной солидный багаж собственного материала. |
