 Добротный альбом. Действительно, от прежнего Антракс почти ничего не осталось, но если бы группа продолжала играть то, что они играли в 1987 г., я боюсь, из них получился бы очередной Flotsam & Jetsam, а так группа идёт в ногу со временем, приобретает в свой актив новые музыкальные элементы, причём без потери былой энергетики. Стиль альбома в целом можно охарактеризовать как модерн-трэш-метал, скорее больше модерн-метал, нежели трэш. Скоростных гитарных риффов вы здесь не услышите, зато услышите много качёвых. Традиционных хэви-мелодий тоже нет, зато их заменяют мощные эмоциональные припевы. В общем, те, кто развивается вместе с группой, да и просто любители хорошего модерн-метала и модерн-трэша должны оценить этот альбом по достоинству. Те же, кто кроме нафталинового трэша середины 80-х ничего не признаёт, не поймут его.
Кстати, стоит посмотреть забавный клип на "Inside Out" - традиционный Антраксовский юмор там скорее жив, чем мёртв =) А на бред про копирование Блинк 182 не обращайте внимания - нет его там и в помине, зато имеется мелодика рокабилли (подобными штуками альбом забит под завязку, так что слушать такой изобретательный кроссовер ещё и забавно). |

Anthrax остается собой всегда. Годы идут, а группа все хорошеет и хорошеет. Очень сильный альбом - в меру жестокие тексты, отличный саунд, вокал Буша, периодически заходящийся в иступлении, а иногда поющий очень медленно и печально. Искрометными соло альбом не радует, но уровень игры все же достаточно высок. Периодически встречаются классические вставки аля S.O.D.
В общем, альбом на любителя и уж конечно для верных фэнов Anthrax. |
