 Выпуск синглов для финской группы Sonata Arctica не то, что в новинку – скорее обыденность, уж сколько всяких разных песен использовалось для этого в разных странах, и, что удивительно, всегда успешно. Секрета в этом особого не было – умение писать классные хитовые композиции, казалось бы, всегда будет идти с финнами рука об руку, но не тут то было… Гром грянул неожиданно быстро – перед выпуском пятого альбома не нашлось ни одной более менее вменяемой песни, чья мелодия запоминалась бы в лет, и сама собой просилась бы на радио. Долго думая, какой же из 10 одинаково безликих вещей выбрать, решили остановиться на "Paid In full", песне вроде бы неплохой, но явно далекой от "Wolf & Raven", "Don’t Say The World", "Ain’t Your Fairytale", "San Sebastian", "Full Moon" и прочих – список можно продолжать до бесконечности. И вроде бы мелодия в начале вещи неплоха, и даже чем-то цепляет, но нелепые проговые сбивки на последней минуте, желание запихнуть в 4-х минутный трек десятиминутный опус, делают "Paid In Full" настолько тяжелой для восприятия, что от отчаяния впору лезть на стену. Ей богу, уж всего ждал от Сонаты, но такого явного провала – никогда. Палочкой-выручалочкой вновь стал кавер. В этот раз обработке подверглось известное произведении Фила Лайонта и группы Thin Lizzy "Out In The Fields", сыгранное не только с уважением к оригиналу, но и с добавлением собственного, неповторимого штриха. Она не настолько сильно переделана, как кавер Scorpions, но это не мешает назвать получившийся результат отличным. Печально, что и в случае с Thunderstone, лучшим номером из всего выпущенного за 2007 становится кавер версии, причем песен, которые перешагнули 20-летний рубеж… |
