NECROMASS was born in 1992. That year Black Metal was not a trend, and NECROMASS shined as a sinister, infernal star. After the first demo (Connected body pentagram, 1992) the band entered the studio to record their first 7” EP His Eyes (Carnefician Rec., 1993). After some important line-up changes, NECROMASS expressed true evil black metal with seminal second 7” Bhoma (Miscarriage Rec., 1994). The debut album Mysteria Mystica Zothyriana (Unisound International, 1994), gave NECROMASS the world attention: a masterpiece made of pure hate, pure evil. Mysteria’s influence on international black metal movement was determinant. The second album, Abyss Calls Life (Dracma Rec., 1996) represented hate’s evolution into new complex forms, violence joined consciousness. The european tour with DARK FUNERAL get flames on continental fans, from Paris to Rotterdam, from Turin to Berlin, where the gig was broadcasted by German TV. NECROMASS was continuously looking for new ways to express the obscure, getting far from black metal clichés. After Italian Assault Part II, a great Tour with Sadist and Detestor, the band embraced songwriting for the third album. Unfortunately, various personal troubles pushed NECROMASS to an end. The last release from the band is Chrysalis Gold (1998), containing two tracks prepared for the unpublished third album. Currently John Cordoni plays with Narr!, Ain Soph Aour (Leonardo Fabbri) plays with Narr! and Pilgrim Shadow, Black Wizard (Stefano Bonini) plays with Domine, and Nachzerehrmara is a talented painter known as Al Nitak.
