Prophajnt was founded in 2007 and it is composed by Gustavo Refosco (bass and backing vocals), Márcio Ritter (eletric guitar, guitar and keyboards), Rodrigo Marques (drums) and Verônica Pasqualin (vocals). The band runs through styles that goes from the classic Heavy Metal to the Hard Rock and the AOR. The diversity of styles the band plays and the individual influences of each member allow the band to invest in songs that can mix weight, technique, energy and originality. Since its conception year, Prophajnt plays in Porto Alegre and various cities of its metropolitan region and the rest of Rio Grande do Sul, always aiming to bring to people its own material.
In 2010 the single "Pain on my Soul" was released, becoming the first official register of the band's work. The single brought new opportunities to the band, allowing it to play in new places and to keep investing in its work.
From 2011 to 2012, Prophajnt recorded its first EP "A New Beginning", at AudioFARM studios, with production of Mateus Borges, being released in july of 2013 in physical and digital format.
Prophajnt is a word invented by the band. It was created mixing the worlds "profane" and "feint". To let the name even more original, the "f" was replaced by "ph" and the "i" by "j". The last may cause estrangement, but it is explained by the Latin language, in which the "j" presents the same sound of "i" and, this way, there's no sonorous loss. It reads "Profeint".
