Cruentator was formed in late 2015 by Riccardo and Omar, both members of the brutal gore band Bowel Stew. Shortly after Ale was found as bassist and Ambro (ex Bowel Stew) joined on vocals. In 2016 Ale left the band and was replaced by Vanni. With the intent to play fast-lightning and abrasive thrash metal, the combo started to work on its first full length album. After having opened up a couple of concerts for the legendary italian thrashers Necrodeath, the band recorded the eight songs album 'Ain't war hell?' in February 2017 at Toxic Basement Studio. The result is half an hour of furious and aggressive thrash metal with war-inspired lyrics. The style is violent and fast thrash metal in the vein of: Demolition Hammer, Morbid Saint, Slaughter, Razor, Sodom, Kreator, Incubus, Devastation etc. The album cover for 'Ain't war hell?' was painted by the indonesian artist Five Miligrams, responsible for iconic artworks of bands such as Morbid Saint and Massacre. In spring 2017 Cruentator evolved into a fully five-piece line-up with the addition of guitarist Massi FD.
