После некоторого времени Бьорн ушел из группы и дальнецшая его судьба неизвестна, что позволило Эрику попробовать себя в качестве вокалиста. Оказалось что у Эрика вокал даже намного лучше и глубже чем был у Бьорна. Arise приняли решение перестать делать ковера и вокал Эрика отлично подходит для материала к записи. Таким образом группа сфокусировалась на Скандинавской сцене, особенно на death/thrash. Два демо были записаны с рекордной скоростью и самомтоятельно, без участия какого-либо лэйбла.

В апреле 2000 года Arise входит на студию в Лос Анджелесе с Энди ЛаРоком (Andy LaRocque) в качестве продюссера. Arise is best described as a crossover between At The Gates, Hypocrisy and Carcass with a touch of the Bay area style whilst they blend intensity, melody and heaviness/groove together as one and you get what is used to be called Death-Thrash.

Arise was formed by Daniel Bugno and Patrik Skoglöw in the fall of 1996 in Alingsås, a suburb to Gothenburg, Sweden. In the beginning the project was just a cover band, which made covers of Sepultura, Machine Head and Pantera and it would take two years before the first demo with their own material was a reality. With the third demo, entitled “Abducted Intelligence” Arise managed to get a deal with Spinefarm Records. The first album, “The Godly Work Of Art” was released in September 2001 and gained extremely good reviews in local papers and it went #1 in the soundcheck of the Swedish magazine Close Up. They were also nominated for best metal album by Radio Rocket along with bands such as Entombed and Dark Funeral. The name of Arise had been sown.

With the second album, “Kings Of The Cloned Generation” (released may 2003) Arise toured Europe with Vader, Deranged and Arkhon Infaustus and just like the first album it was recorded in Studio Mega (Anata, Old Mans Child, The Crown) and once again it was Niklas Sundin of Dark Tranquillity who made the artwork. Because of the mentioned tour and many festival performances Arise became known as a respected live act who delivered their songs precise and with a higher intensity and therefore should be witnessed live rather than just listening to their albums.

Autumn 2005 “The Beautiful New World” – the third album of Arise was released. It was ranked as the best album of the three and for the first time the band decided to tribute one of their favorite bands with a song on the album. The song was named “Tribute To The Flesh” and the celebrity was of course Carcass. Though the album was released in Japan for the first time and though it gained superb critics in big magazines like Terrorrizer and Burrrrn, and the gigs and festival performances were many something wasn´t in harmony in Arise. Due to lack of interest and different opinions in which way to go further musically Daniel and LG decided to get rid of the disrupting elements and bring in some new blood in the band therefore Patsy, Sternberg and Kai were recruited in late December 2006.

The new members became the injection the band needed and the premiere gig were made February 2007 in Falkenberg, Sweden and Arise was considered as the live act of the evening even though bands like Sonic Syndicate, Trendkill and Inevitable End was on the bill. The fourth album entitled “The Reckoning” was once again recorded in Studio Mega and is considered as by far to be the best album the band has made with furious songs, grim vocals and blistering artwork by Chad Michael Ward . It was released may 2009 through Regain Records and it seems to be the definite comeback of Arise.
