Aeternus was formed in 1993 by Ares! Released the Demo "Walk My Path" in 1994... Signed a little deal with Checz Republic Label: View Beyond Records in -95... Under their banner, we released the MCD "Dark Sorcery". Signed then a full lenght deal with HammerHeartRecords 1996. Released 4 full lenghts under their banner: .."Beyond the Wandering Moon" 1997. "...And So The Night Became" 1998. "Shadows of Old" 1999. "Ascension of Terror" 2001. ..Then we left HHR and signed to Nocturnal Art Productions and released:.. "A Darker Monument" 2003. ..Aeternus has toured Europe with bands such as Enslaved, Deicide, Cannibal Corpse, Behemoth, marduk, Mayhem, Red Harvest, 1349, Emperor, Limbonic Art, Auro Noir, and Hades Almighty and many more. After the release of their 6th full-length, "HeXaeon", Aeternus received very good reviews worldwide and the fans and newcomers as well seemed to welcome the new product from these Darkened metalheads. The band played for the first time since 2003 at Bergens Metalfestival Hole In the Sky 2006 and recieved good critics for their performance there. A tour in November 2006 was performed with Devilish Impressions, DarkShine and Arum. This tour went well for all parties performing wise, but was not organized properly It happens! Just after the summer of 2007, it was decided to let Winter go as it became too hard having a drummer 5 hours away by car for Aeternus. The flow of the band was too slow and a tough decision was made, but for the better future of Aeternus. Though it must be noted that Winters skills and dedication was NEVER an issue at all in the bands decision. In September 2007, Aeternus checked out a drummer, Phobos, here in Bergen after a recommendation from Erik, Aeternus' first drummer. He was very interesting and had very good dynamics from what the band could hear from his work in other bands. A short audition was done, he's interest in Aeternus was high and he was later hired, fulfilling the requirements the band had for him. June 2010, Aeternus relieves Dreggen, their guitarist since 2005 and replaces him with Specter, a Bergen guitarist from the growing BM band Gravdal. Aeternus currently works on new material as well as training Specter and they hope to have the means to enter the studio next year for their 7th album.
