It all began in the spring of 2004 when guitarist Fredrik Jordanius, becoming restless with his situation in Rising Faith, decided to leave the group and try his luck on his own. He contacted ex Zonata drummer Mikael Cameron Force and presented him with an idea to play traditional heavy metal mixed up with a healthy dose of death metal and thrash. Mike instantly embraced the idea and in May 2004 they began writing and recording some songs to try the sound out.
Having written and recorded guitars and drums for four songs the duo began searching for a bassist and a vocalist to complete the lineup. After a short time of memberhunting and auditions they found the perfect members to summon up the band in Mikes and Fredriks long time friend and vocalist extraordinaire Pasi Humppi and bassman Lukasz Strach and hence Ablaze was born.
With the lineup complete the recording, simply named "A", was completed and sent out to noumerous labels, agents and other people in the business. So far the response has been overwhelming and the band hope to have a record deal signed sometime in late 2005.
May 2005 spawned the first big lineup change in Ablaze as the band parted way with drummer Mike, replacing him with precise and fast playing drummer Oskar Lumbojev just before going out on a series of gigs.
The secret to the Ablaze sound is the merging of the hard hitting, precise drumming of Oskar, alongside the furious riffing and leadworks by Fredrik accompanied with the loud punchy basslines of Lukasz. This forms an agressive platform for the awesome melodies supplied by vocalist Pasi.
Merging the crushing riffs and beats of thrash and death with the melodies of old school heavy metal into their own style of disciplinethrash Ablaze is surely a force to be reckoned with in the time to come.
The era of Ablaze has just begun!
