ADYTUM.. was formed in the Autumn of 2004 when Brendan Dean and Ryan Lewis began talking of forming a band to the likes of Opeth, Dream Theater, and even Rush. Ryan, having grown up with Daniel Bonofoglio, formed a union thick as concrete within the walls of Dan's basement. The triad of heroes, likened to that of a ka-tet, began practicing and writing at a monstrous level, creating what is now to be known as Adytum's first battle cry, "The Willow's Haunting". In 2006 after the fall out with their two original members, Dean Williams (drums) and Ryan Adytum version 1.5 was graced with the world's tallest moving building, Chase Burns and the former Serbian Heavyweight champion, Marko Vukovic increased the band's food budget making them the world's Hungriest Band. 2006 saw the release of the group's first album ..ECHOES OF REFUGE.. through Northern Storm Records. From 2007 to 2008 Adytum had their busiest time going on tour with Epicurean (Metal Blade Records) and What's He Building In There? (Year of the Sun Records). Sharing the stage with Augury (Nuclear Blast), Unexpect (The End Records), Ensiferum (Spinefarm), Emeth, Blackguard (Nuclear Blast), The Exalted Piledriver (Northern Storm Records), The Agonist (Century Media), Martyr (Galy), Neuraxis (Prosthetic Records), Necronomicon, and Quo Vadis. In December 2008 Adytum entered Voodoo Records to begin work on their 2nd album which is still in the works. In April of 2009 Brendan stepped down from his rank in Adytum to focus on school. Shortly after Co-Producer of Echoes of Refuge David Clipperton joined the band as their new guitarist and in June of 2010 Mark Johnson joined as the new vocalist. The group is still working on finishing the new album and showing the world Adytum's full potential.
