ARKENSTONE has been a driving force in the local scene with their constant presence and energy since the late nineties.
Hailing from Heraklion in the ever sunny island of Crete, in Greece, ARKESTONE has developed into a heavy monster of a band that spits modern thrash metal flames. Through the past nine years, numerous members have contributed in the identity of the band, but it’s really the core of dedication and determination that has kept ARKENSTONE through the hard times. After all, outside the capital of Athens, it is extremely difficult for musicians to develop and be heard abroad.
Against all odds, ARKENSTONE has improved, through endless concerts in their hometown, creating a tight force between the five members. Furthermore, they have opened up for well-renowned Greek and International acts, including ROTTING CHRIST, SEPTIC FLESH, JAG PANZER, BROCAS HELM, etc. creating a loyal fan-base in the country.
During their early steps, the traditional heavy/power metal style can be heard in the first demo releases “Whispers of fire” (2001) and “The sentinel of the dwarven gate” (2003). However, the process took them to heavier paths by 2005 and the “Embraced by guilt” EP. ARKENSTONE had started developing their current style, which can now be heard in “Dead Human Resource”. It was the addition of Endal and his fierce screaming that gave the final touch to their sound, thus upgrading the band to the modern thrash entity that it is now. Their music combines their love of modern crunchy guitar riffs, tight, classic 80..s influenced-rhythm section and an excellent layer of thrashy vocals. Modern, technical but classic!
In late 2006, with a full-album worth of material in their luggage, ARKENSTONE traveled to the well known Music Factory Studios in Germany, to finalize their debut album, with the guidance of R.D. Liapakis (MYSTIC PROPHECY) and Christian Schmid. What sprung out of their hard work is what you now hold in your hands in the form of “Dead Human Resource”. A powerful and modern Thrash Metal dynamite, fused with elements from the established Thrash giants.
After a difficult year, with continuous promotion of the band and various performances, it was in early 2008 that ARKENSTONE signed with CASKET MUSIC (a division of COPRO records) for a worldwide licensing and distributing deal for “Dead Human Resource”. With its release on the 29th September, ARKENSTONE are aiming to make their name known to the world, by playing as many gigs as possible.
