The band was formed in January 2003. Its music is influenced by many styles varying from melodic death and modern metal to progressive metal with art rock touch. The music is built on Anastacia’s screaming supported by heavy riffing, melodic solos and atmospheric keyboards.

The band has played over a hundred gigs, released one demo-album and a music video under the name «Sluchayniy Gost». As «Riverain», the band issued self-released Ep «The Dream». In June 2010 the leading russian metal recording label releases their first full-length album "Overstepping the Verge..."
