1st forming out of the ashes of Idiom, Asylum and PMG in 2009, Fantasist began playing many shows across the North West & UK, played mainstage at SOS Festival in Manchester in July 2010 and in November 2010 Fantasist signed with Rocksector Records for the release of debut album "Giggle Juice" on 7th March 2011. Says Mark Appleton of Rocksector "We're absolutely delighted to be working with Fantasist. Having followed their progress over the past several months & in noting their superb performance at SOS Festival, our initial thoughts were confirmed that here is a truly unique band, with an original & cleverly-crafted sound that promises to make some real waves in 2011".... that certainly proved to be the case when Fantasist made firstly a high impact return to SOS Festival in 2011 & were then booked for Bloodstock Festival in August 2011 earning this praise from reviewer Ian Hawkins of Cack Blabbath who placed Fantasist in his top 5 bands from Bloodstock.... "at every festival there is always one band that genuinely takes you aback.. brilliantly fun band.. brilliant to behold"
In 2012 Fantasist continued to work hard with numerous live shows including their debut on foreign soil as what proved to be many people's "band of the day" at Wizzfest in Belgium. Towards the end of the year an acoustic EP called "Suited & Muted" was released, whilst a 2nd full album was being written & recorded.
Now in 2013 the band's self-titled 2nd album - released in may - is already making waves and the band continue to entertain and surprise with their unique brand of humor and gusto
