DAYS OF LOSS is a Melodic Death-/Thrash metal band, based in Vienna, Austria.
The band exists since the late nineties and has released 3 records to date:
- Lobotomy (CD) – released 2001 - no label
- Sleeping Gods Lie (CD) – released 2004 - no label
- Life Is Decay (CD) – released 2010 on Terrasound Records.
- Our Frail Existence (CD) – to be released February 2014 on Noisehead Records.

- Ken Straetman - Rhythm Guitars (ex-Manic Movement, toured with Moonspell & Kreator in 2000,)

The band has played several concerts in Austria, Poland, Czech Republic and Switzerland, as Headliner as well as support for bands such as In Flames, Suffocation, Heaven Shall Burn, Brujeria, etc. and on the main stage at Metal Fest Austria 2010, Kaltenbach Open Air and on the Donauinselfest 2013 in Vienna.
The album "Life is Decay" was nominated for an "Amadeus Music Award" (Austrian Grammy) in the category Hard & Heavy in 2010. The Award show was held in the Wiener Stadthalle in Vienna in front of a multi-thousand people audience and was televised on Austrian National Television.
Occasionally there is some airplay on the Austrian national radio station FM4 in the Metal Show "House of Pain".
During a period of silence, the new album “Our Frail Existence” was recorded, mixed and mastered at the Udio Media Studios in Vienna with producer Norbert Leitner.
After the recording sessions the band was upgraded from a 4- to a 5-piece, with frontman Ben concentrating on the vocals.
Days of Loss return stronger than ever with their new album “Our Frail Existence” that will be released in early 2014 by Noisehead Records.
