Maybe "Experimentalism" is one of the best words to describe the intense but not linear sound of Indireto, the project which was created by the guitarist Augusto Nogueira (Scarceus) and the drummer Jean Dolabella (Sepultura) in 2006.
In spite of the musicians’s different journeys regarding their musical style, the members met each other for the first time in 1995 establishing since then, a fruitful exchange of knowledge as Jean’s participation in Scarceus’s two album recordings, workshops realizations and the execution of several works together that now culminated in the curious project called "Indireto" which releases its first EP.
In order to avoid the traditional "instrumental", Jean and Augusto intend to set free from musical style rules and make a sound which mixture both their own different influences and the technique they acquired in their rich professional journeys.
Although the EP had counted with other performances as Leonardo Quintão and Renato Tomasso, two bass players who were invited to participate, Indireto is made up only by Augusto Nogueira and Jean Dolabella, who play all the additional instruments as well as being responsible for the authorship of the production and for the EP’s recording.
The result is something that is worth listening both for the quality of the sound and the originality of the compositions, full of improvisations and interesting mixtures.
